Historically, the 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) has always been bipartisan, just as it is today.
In 1940, the Republican Party was the first major party to endorse the amendment on its platform. The Democratic Party soon followed.
In 1972 the 28th Amendment passed with an overwhelming bipartisan majority. 354Y-24N in the House of Representatives 84Y-8N in the Senate.
During the recent (2017-2020) ratifications in Nevada, Illinois, and Virginia, there was strong bipartisan support and leadership of the state ratifications.
